English Language Specialists Visit Taif and Al-Baha
PAS Jeddah accompanied visiting English Language Specialist Thomas Delaney from the University of Oregon, to Taif for the first segment of the two-week long program designed to enhance the skills of English teachers. During the trip, the Cultural Affairs team both supervised the teacher-training as well as made time to liaise with local officials to discuss educational and cultural exchange programs.
In Al-Baha, English Language Specialists met with the Director of the Ministry of Education, Saudi Cultural Society and visited the Al-Baha Museum.
The English Language Specialists Program was warmly received and local press coverage was wide. The program succeeded in promoting and broadening relations with young people, teachers and government officials. It also strengthened the U.S. Consulate’s partnerships with locally-based organizations.
