Consul General Martin Quinn Visits Taif
Consul General Quinn and a delegation from the Consulate General visited the city of Taif located in the Western region of the Kingdom and met with the Governor of Taif, Fahd Bin Moammer, to discuss a range of subjects concerning both parties. The delegation also met with the executive board of tourism in Taif, the Taif Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Taif University. The meetings provided a comprehensive overview of the city and its progress.
The delegation had the chance to tour Al-Tatwer (Development) School, the first school in Taif that is a part of King Abdullah’s project for educational development. At the school, students and teachers use new technologies such as laptops, Smart boards and the Internet to complete their lessons. The delegation was impressed by the new educational project and Consul General Quinn noted “educational development is a necessity to keep pace with global changes and face challenges.” He also urged the students to benefit from this technology and improve themselves. The Consulate looks forward to future visits to the city and to working closely with active members in the Taif community.
