Youth Election Event Held in Jeddah
Fainak.com and Ruby Tuesdays partnered together in order to host an event titled "Youth and U.S. Elections." The idea to organize a youth event was generated in discussions between Fainak members and Public Affairs Section Jeddah. In a private conference room in Ruby Tuesday’s, over 60 local female and male youths attended the event held on October 28th.
The program for the evening event began with screening of the IIP video Sports & Elections 2008. A panel of University students then discussed general topics about the election and answered questions from the audience. This was followed by a group of U.S. exchange program alumni who talked about the programs they attended and their experiences in the U.S. The night culminated with a speaker on the topic of Music & Politics, who ended by playing the John Mayer song "Waiting on the World to Change".
